Singapore International Water Week 2021

Singapore International Water Week 2021
goes hybrid -
SIWW2021 Spotlight (21 June 2021) &
SIWW2021 Online (22 June – 2 July 2021)

Given the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and global travel restrictions, the Singapore International Water Week (SIWW), World Cities Summit (WCS) and CleanEnviro Summit Singapore (CESG) will take on a different format this year, to safeguard the safety and well-being of our participants.

In place of a fully physical show, SIWW 2021 will be presented as a hybrid Summit, and a virtual Water Convention and Water Expo. SIWW2021 Spotlight will take place on 21 June 2021 as a hybrid high-level water Summit for leaders in governments, utilities, academia and industry to discuss and prepare the water sector for emerging challenges ahead, such as climate change and the pandemic.

The Water Convention and Water Expo will be held virtually from 22 June 2021 to 2 July 2021 on our digital platform to allow global leaders, experts and practitioners to connect, share and learn from each other in a safe environment. Renamed SIWW2021 Online, this virtual event will feature thematic webinars and workshops, technical sessions, product showcases, and a marketplace. More information on the SIWW2021 Spotlight and SIWW2021 Online will be available on our website (https://www.siww.com.sg/) soon.

SIWW will return to the in-person format in 2022, alongside WCS and CESG, with dates to be announced later.

For enquiries, please get in touch with us at info@siww.com.sg.

Thank you.

Singapore’s Fourth Desalination Plant, Capable of Treating Both Seawater and Freshwater, Officially Opened

PUB, Singapore’s National Water Agency is proud to announce the official opening of the nation’s fourth desalination plant, the Keppel Marina East Desalination Plant (KMEDP), on 4 February 2021. Guest of Honour, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Minister for Sustainability and the Environment, Ms Grace Fu officiated the opening ceremony.

As Singapore’s first large-scale, dual-mode desalination plant, KMEDP can produce about 30 million gallons of fresh drinking water per day. Depending on the weather, the plant can treat either seawater or freshwater drawn from the Marina Reservoir, boosting Singapore's water supply resilience in the face of climate change.

Seamlessly integrated with the surrounding greenery, KMEDP also features nearly 20,000 square metres of open green rooftop space for community activity and recreation!
